A busy ferry service in South Cumbria will be out of service for one day next week.
Windermere ferry will not run on Tuesday (October 15) whilst new cables and drive wheels are installed.
The announcement was made this afternoon (October 11) on the Windermere Ferry Facebook page.
A spokesperson said: "While the ferry is out of service for the planned maintenance, our crew will be utilising this time to carryout additional minor works that require attention to reduce the need for future downtime.
"If the works are completed in good time, we will return to service on Tuesday at the earliest opportunity.
"Ferry users will be kept informed every step of the way via this update. We thank you for your patience and understanding."
The ferry takes passengers and vehicles across the lake from Ferry Nab in Bowness to Far Sawrey.
The journey takes around 10 minutes one way and it can carry up to 18 cars and over 100 passengers.
