Furness Academy has successfully defended its Top of the Form champion status for the second consecutive year.
The 2024 competition, organised by BAE Systems, took place at The Forum last week.
It sees students from schools across the Furness area compete in various STEM-related rounds of questions and activities to try score points and win the Top of the Form title.
Alex Power, Top of the Form staff lead and Furness Academy maths teacher, said: "The students have worked hard to ensure they were ready for this year’s competition.
"Knowing they were defending their title added a little bit of additional pressure which the students handled beautifully.
"I am incredibly proud that they won their year’s competition and hope we are able to defend our title for a third year in 2025."
Two students from each secondary school year group participated in quizzes, 'thinking and design tasks', 'quickfire questions', and more, all representing their school with the aim of achieving the highest score.
Mr Simon Laheney, CEO of Furness Education Trust and headteacher of Furness Academy, said: "Well done to the Furness Academy Top of the Form team and Mrs Power for winning this year’s competition for the second year in a row.
"We are really proud of the STEM education we offer here at Furness Academy and across the Trust and I am so pleased that the students were able to show their knowledge and skills in this competition."
