A property, previously home to a takeaway business in Barrow town centre, has been recently added to the market.
After 40 years of trade, Yungnien, a family-run Chinese Takeaway, closed its doors for good in May 2021.
The property was bought in 1981 by Jim’ Sun-Kwai and ‘Jean’ Miu-Chun, who opened Yungnien Chinese Takeaway, which ran for four decades.
Ten years before it shut, the running of the business was passed on to their son Gavin Choi.
As ‘Jim’ entered his 80s and the Covid-19 Pandemic sent the UK into a Lockdown, the family decided it was the ‘perfect’ time to retire.
Now, more than three years after the owners announced their ‘tough decision’ to shut up shop, the building has been listed for sale.
It is looking for offers in the region of £185,000.
The property on Cavendish Street joined Rightmove on Tuesday October 8 and is marketed by Ross Estate Agencies.
The ‘ideal’ residential unit is advertised as a ‘ready to walk into’ takeaway with a large, seated waiting area and ‘spacious’ six-bedroom owners’ accommodation.
As well as kitchen appliances and cooking equipment, the premises boasts four large display windows at the front.
“Calling all entrepreneurs" the listing says, “We are pleased to bring to the market this ideal business venture.
“The property is priced to sell and would suit a variety of buyers looking for a new business venture.”
As well as the main shop space, the ground floor includes a large kitchen and cooking area, storeroom, prep room plus a downstairs cloakroom and WC.
There are three further ground floor rooms, which would suit a variety of uses.
The first-floor landing provides access to a lounge, study room, two bedrooms and a three-piece bathroom suite.
A second floor provides four further bedrooms as well as a wash room and a second three-piece bathroom suite.
The property also benefits from a ‘large’ rear yard.
