A BARROW man has appeared in court for his first formal hearing after being charged with raping and sexually assaulting a woman.
Richard Postlethwaite, of Pottery Street, Barrow, is said to have raped the woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, in 2022.
The 59-year-old is also alleged to have sexually assaulted her twice.
He will next appear at Preston Crown Court on November 6 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Magistrates granted the defendant unconditional bail.
