Seven lovely pooches, currently in the care of Animal Rescue Cumbria, are ready for rehoming. Are you ready to meet them?

Animal Rescue Cumbria and The Wainwright Shelter take in, rehabilitate and rehome 350 cats and dogs every year. Once a dog has been assessed by the animal care team, they can be advertised for adoption.

These beautiful dogs are ready to find their forever families…

Animal Rescue Cumbria said Odin walks well with other dogs but would like to be the only dog in the home.

He needs a home where there are no cats or small furies, but he could live with secondary school aged children.

Odin would also like to find a home with a secure garden to potter in.

BORIS the Springer Spaniel is five years and two months old.

(Image: Animal Rescue Cumbria) He is looking for a special home with an experienced dog owner who has dealt with resource guarding issues in the past.

Boris is hoping to find an owner who can commit to continuing his training.

Animal Rescue Cumbria said he needs to find a person who is quite knowledgeable on dog body language to be able to read and understand Boris as well as possible.

Boris needs to be the only pet in the home, and he cannot live with children.

While he enjoys going for walks, Boris needs some further work on his recall and would like a secure garden of his own to explore in.

PODGE, the French Bulldog, is estimated to be around one year old.

Animal Rescue Cumbria said they are unsure if he has lived with cats before, but he would love a secure garden where he can run and play.

LESTER, the Lurcher, is estimated to be around a year old.

Lester is a young, energetic boy who will need regular exercise, this active pooch is looking for a family who will include him on all of their adventures.

Animal Rescue Cumbria said he also has a weakness for some snuggles on a sofa!

He could potentially live with another dog in the home, following a careful introduction.

The charity is not sure if he has met cats before but believe he would prefer a home without any cats or small furry pets.

Lester could potentially live with school-aged children if introduced correctly and would like a secure garden to explore.

MIKE, the Spitz Cross, is estimated to be around five years old.

(Image: Animal Rescue Cumbria) This ‘very sweet’ boy has been with the charity for over a year and is looking for an extra special, patient owner who can continue his training.

Mike needs a quiet, adults only home where there are few visitors, and he is the only pet.

The charity said: “Once Mike gets to know you, he is a very sweet boy who enjoys a fuss. He loves to explore our secure field, and his recall is coming on well.

“Mike can be reactive when out on walks so would like to find a home in a quiet are where there are not many other dogs and will need an owner who can build his confidence. A home away from built up areas where there are quiet walks would be great for Mike.”
