AN alleged benefits cheat is due to appear in court.
Wendy Jolly is accused of dishonestly failing to notify authorities about a change in circumstances and of providing false information to obtain a benefit.
The 57-year-old is alleged to have told the Department for Work and Pensions that she had £400 in savings when she actually had nearly £40,000.
She is also accused of failing to tell authorities of a change in circumstances to obtain employment and support allowance, housing benefit and the personal independence payment.
The defendant, of Oak Head Road on Walney, is to appear at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court today.
