A new group is coming to Barrow next week to help locals uncover more about their family's heritage.
Organised by Vision Support Barrow and District, 'Genealogy with Jean' will host its first session on Monday, October 14 at the charity's centre on Cavendish Street.
The group will come together every week to shine a light on participants' family trees, exploring a deeper connection they hold to Furness and beyond.
Co-ran by one of the members at Vision Support, the hourly meetings will serve as a great introductory path into the world of genealogy, giving people the tools they need to learn the basics.
If you are interested in joining the group, then you can visit the Cavendish Street centre from 11am to noon on October 14 or you can contact Vision Support by calling 01229 440556.
