A business owner in Millom is feeling 'over the moon' after her team picked up an award nomination.
In September The Mail launched the 'Best Beauty Salon 2024' award to promote the people who are bringing a touch of style to the region.
Our readers were invited to nominate the businesses they felt were deserving of the accolade, with 10 finalists selected from those results.
Voting has been taking place since the start of last week and will be open until Saturday, October 12.

Our special feature this time sees us come back to Millom, where the Beauty Lounge has just made the move to Lapstone Road at the start of the month.
There, Karen Moyle first opened the doors to salon two years ago, which was previously found on Wellington Street.
She said: "I have been in the beauty industry for 18 years having trained with Kendal College and trained privately with a number of major brands within the industry.
"We are over the moon to be nominated and feel it would make a good year even better if we were to win."
The Mail's 'Best Beauty Salon 2024' award series pt.2:
- Barrow salon promises exciting times ahead after nomination | The Mail (nwemail.co.uk)
- Ulverston salon with 'fantastic team' nominated for award | The Mail (nwemail.co.uk)

- Millom salon thanks 'incredible' clients for nomination | The Mail (nwemail.co.uk)
Karen has always been self-employed, renting spaces in different salons around the Millom area until she 'took the plunge' to open up her own shop.
"It’s gone from strength to strength and we have relocated to a bigger venue due to an ever increasing team and clientele," she said.
"We now have an even larger fantastic hardworking team made up of myself, a nail technician and beauty therapist, Erin, a brow and lash technician, Manda, a nail technician, and Niamh, our trainee beauty therapist.
"And since moving to Lapstone Road, we also have a private studio - called Porters Atelier - within the building run by hairdresser James Tyson."
If you think that Karen and The Beauty Lounge is the best salon around, then make sure you cast your vote before time runs out on October 12.
