A new series of events has been designed to increase the number of businesses in Barrow.

Organised by Social Enterprise Cumbria, the free weekly sessions will be hosted by Barrow Cricket Club from Thursday, October 17 up to Thursday, November 21.

The hands-on programme will help people transform their budding ideas into a fully fledged, purpose-driven business.

Those who attend will gain expert advice and practical tools, and learn how to market, manage cash flow, and find customers.

The hope is that the businesses that start as a result of the scheme will also work to provide a positive impact and a meaningful connection to its local community.

One of the main aspects of the course will be to educate people on how social enterprises differ from the traditional business model.
