A SECTION of a busy Lake District pass will close for up to 12 days while works are being carried out.
Kirkstone Pass (A592) will close from its junction with The Struggle (Ambleside) extending in a southerly direction to its junction with Greengate (Troutbeck).
Alternative routes for north bound traffic are via the unrestricted sections of the A592, A591 (Ambleside), A593, A591 (Keswick), A66 and A5091 Park Brow.
For south bound traffic an alternative route is via the unrestricted sections of the A592, A5091 Park Brow, A66 (Keswick), A591 (Windermere).
A way for pedestrians and cyclists will not be maintained whilst works take place.
