A MAN has been sentenced after he admitted his actions caused anxiety and distress to two victims.
Anthony McGuffie, of Rawlinson Street appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on October 2 where he pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to two counts of sending a communication of an offensive nature.
The court heard McGuffie – aged 32 – sent a private TikTok message of an indecent or grossly offensive nature to one victim in Bowness-on-Windermere on January 13 this year.
The defendant then left an indecent or grossly offensive phone voicemail recording to another victim on January 14 in Bowness-on-Windermere.
Magistrates sentenced McGuffie to a 12-month community order with one requirement of completing a 6-month electronically monitored curfew between the hours of 21:00 pm and 06:00 am.
A restraining order was also imposed against the two complainants prohibited McGuffie from contacting them directly or indirectly for a period of 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85.
