Classic cars will converge on the Lakeland Motor Museum this weekend.

October's Classic Drive and Ride in Day, on Saturday, October 5, promises an 'awesome autumn' meet.

The museum has announced a larger outdoor exhibition area for this year’s event.

Visitors can mingle with fellow car enthusiasts and enjoy refreshments at Café Ambio.

The event is open to everyone, not just classic car owners.

Visitors will have the chance to see the museum's collection of classic and vintage vehicles, automobilia, and the Bluebird Exhibition, which pays tribute to speed kings Donald and Malcolm Campbell.

Those who bring their classic cars will receive a discount voucher for museum entry and 10 per cent off at the gift shop.

Museum curator Chris Lowe said: "We can't wait to welcome everyone and to admire the incredible vehicles on display.

"The highlight of the day will be awarding the coveted Awesome Autumn Trophy to the most magnificent classic on the day."

The Classic Drive and Ride in Day will begin at 10am on October 5.

Lakeland Motor Museum, located in the Leven Valley, has a collection of 30,000 exhibits including 140 classic cars and motorbikes.

It is open seven days a week.
