Ford Park in Ulverston is excited to celebrate ten years of their ‘fabulous’ Apple Day this weekend.

On Saturday October 5 the park will host a free community event in celebration of all things apple.

Visitors can bring their own apples to be pressed, and a bottle for the juice to be collected in. Ford Park will also have some apples for sale from their orchard.

There will be children’s crafts, traditional games, a raffle and some ‘wonderful’ arts and crafts stalls in the Williams Room and on the terrace.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Mycelium Thinking and Master Composters will also be joining in the festive fun.

The Bake Off is back, so dust off the mixing bowl, grab your rolling pin and create a winning apple inspired bake to be crowned this year’s Star Baker.

Last year, Fiona MacDonald took top spot with her ‘delicious’ Apple Cake but you could make anything from pie to chutney. Judging will take place at 2pm.

The tenth anniversary of Apple Day will also see a brand-new charity dog show, Bark in the Park.

For our four-legged companions, there will be a dog show on the field.

As well as food vendors, face painting, and dog themed stalls, Church Walk Vets will be there to talk to owners and provide advice on looking after your pets.
