A distillery is set to host a gin-tasting evening in a café.

Grasmere Distillery will host the event at Force Café on Thursday, October 17, starting at 6pm.

Paul Abbott from Grasmere Distillery will guide guests through the gin-tasting experience.

Attendees will sample three cocktails made with Grasmere Distillery's hand-crafted gins: Grasmere Dry Gin, Grasmere Pink Berry Gin, and Grasmere Blood Orange Gin.

The cocktails will be served with mixers and garnishes.

Paul will also discuss the history of gin and his distilling journey, including how he transitioned from setting up a brewery to establishing a grain-to-glass distillery.

There will be a chance for guests to ask questions during the evening while enjoying canapés.

Paul will also bring samples of his newly made spirit, allowing guests to taste different mash bill varieties.

These are the results of some of his first whisky distillations.

Grasmere Distillery, which launched in 2021, released its first grain-to-glass spirits in 2022, distilling vodka and gin from scratch.

The distillery is one of a few independent distilleries in the UK that manufacture their own base spirits.

The distillery currently supplies more than 50 retailers across Cumbria and numerous bars and eateries across the county.

Paul Abbott said: "We’d love people to come and join us at Force Café on 17th October, discover what we are about, and try some of our fantastic gins, all of which we make from scratch in the heart of Grasmere.

"It promises to be a fun, informative evening in gorgeous surroundings.

"The ideal way to while away a winter’s evening."

Tickets for the event are priced at £24.95, which includes three gin cocktails and accompanying canapés.

The evening will start at 6pm with welcome drinks and canapés, followed by a gin talk and Q&A session at 7pm.

The evening will conclude at 8pm.

The distillery is continuing to develop further, recently adding English single malt whisky iterations to their overall product range, which will mature over time and add a very different dynamic to their spirit production.
