A Lake District hotel has scooped three prestigious awards.
The Gilpin Hotel and Lake House in Windermere was awarded two Michelin Keys on October 1 as part of the first ceremony to cover the UK and Ireland.
The new One, Two, and Three Key distinctions were awarded to the most outstanding hotels in the UK and Ireland.
Two Key properties are described by Michelin as those which "significantly add to your experience as a traveller, each vetted by hotel experts and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design; quality and consistency of service; overall personality and character; value for the price; and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting."
The hotel was also recognised in Condé Nast's 2024 Readers' Choice Awards, which rate the best hotels in the world according to Condé Nast Traveller readers.
More than 125,000 travellers from across the United Kingdom submitted responses rating their travel experiences across the globe to offer a comprehensive look at the places they eagerly anticipate revisiting.
The hotel was also shortlisted for the 2025 Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence in the Best for Romance category.
The winners will be announced at an Awards for Excellence Dinner on November 4 at Kimpton Fitzroy London.
Thomas Ferrante, general manager at Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, said: "We’re beyond excited to announce that Gilpin Hotel & Lake House has been awarded a Two Key distinction by the Michelin Guide.
"Equivalent to the prestigious Michelin stars for restaurants, this award recognises our hotel as a truly unique and exceptional destination.
"It’s an incredible honour that celebrates the character, consistency of service, and care of our guests, which are at the heart of everything we do.
"Only two hotels in the Lake District have received this accolade today, and we couldn’t be prouder to be one of them.
"It’s been a fantastic day for Gilpin all round, as we have also been named as a finalist in Condé Nast Traveller’s 2024 Readers' Choice Awards and shortlisted in the Conde Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence.
"A huge thank you, and congratulations, to our incredible team who continue to make Gilpin the special place it is."
