A new poetry open mic night in Barrow is being used to put people's mental health in the spotlight.
Organised by Mind in Furness, the event will take place at the Barrow Underground Music Society (BUMS) on Thursday, October 10.
The charity has scheduled the evening of entertainment to coincide with this year's World Mental Health Day.
The night will be hosted by local poet Caleb Staps, whose work explores themes of youth, modern life, and mental health.
All proceeds from the night will go to Mind in Furness, who work to ensure anyone in the Furness area with a mental health problem gets the help and support they deserve.
Doors will open at 7pm and tickets will cost £3, though there are some free tickets for those with low income.
