AN ART group will start again at The Swan Inn on Hart Street, Ulverston two years after its original meeting place closed down.
Tim Leeson started the group at Natterjacks seven years ago with Denny Derbyshire, another artist from Barrow.
Tim, who also runs South Lakes Arts Collective and Cumbria Outsider Visual Artists said that they had 'some great times' under the Natterjacks ownership Valerie Madden and Rob O Hara. In June, Natterjacks, on Queen Street, announced they would be closing the café.
"Many close friendships were made and after a little break I thought it would be great to re-establish the original drink and draw," Tim said.
Manager Lewis Thurman allowed the group to use the 'lovely' pub.
"The pub is warm and welcoming with great light which will help whilst drawing," Tim said. The group will welcome beginners as well as intermediate and established creatives.
"The emphasis is on the social aspect of creating as doing art at home can sometimes be a lonely existence," Tim added.
The group welcomes all and encourages students to come along 'as their input would be invaluable.'
It is free and they will meet fortnightly on Wednesdays from October 2 between 7 and 9pm.
