Barrow sex offender jailed after breaching SHPO for fourth time
A CONVICTED paedophile from Barrow is back behind bars after he admitted to breaching the terms of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for the fourth time.
Ian Strickland, of Lesh Lane, deliberately deceived police by hiding an unregistered Samsung mobile phone in his home address, Preston Crown Court heard.

Barrow man jailed for breaching restraining order
A MAN from Barrow has been put behind bars for breaching the terms of a restraining order.
Stephen Harrison, of Duncan Street, admitted at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court that he had without reasonable excuse, communicated, contacted or approached the complainant on September 5.

Man who oversaw vast drug supply operation in Cumbria jailed
A KEY figure in one of the UK’s biggest ever drug supply plots has been handed a prison sentence of more than 15 years.
Along with an influential partner-in-crime, Simon Buller, 46, headed up an organised crime gang (OCG) which imported and delivered hundreds of kilos of cocaine during a “truly massive” 15-month conspiracy.

Craig Adams jailed for spate of offences against 999 staff in Barrow
A JUDGE described a prolific Barrow offender with more than 400 offences as having ‘one of the worst’ criminal records he had ever seen.
Craig James Adams was jailed at Preston Crown Court after admitting a spate of offences against healthcare professionals, paramedics and police officers.

Barrow: two members of Shakka county line gang sentenced
TWO members of a gang that flooded Barrow with Class A drugs have been jailed.
Between December 2022 and November 2023 25-year-old Al-shakil Sadiq, of HMP Lindholme, ran a drug operation supplying heroin and cocaine called the 'Shakka' line between Oldham and Barrow.

Barrow to Manchester drug group jailed for total of 50 years
NINE people involved in a county lines drug operation that ran from Barrow to Manchester have been jailed for a total of 50 years.
The final members of the group who supplied heroin and cocaine were sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday, September 24.

Knife wielding Barrow man brandished knife and threatened two males
A MAN in his early twenties has been jailed for brandishing a knife on two male friends in a back alley in Barrow town centre.
Celton Thompson, of Bridgegate Avenue in Barrow, put the blade to the neck of one of the men and demanded items from him after he accused the friends of ‘perving’ on his girlfriend. Preston Crown Court heard.

Pervert breached SHPO by searching on Xbox for bestiality
A REGISTERED sex offender has been locked up after officers caught him using a device to view extreme pornography featuring bestiality.
Kainen Joughin-Griffiths, formerly, of Woodbine Lane in Newton-in-Furness near Barrow, hid his internet search history and bought a new Xbox without telling the police.
