THREE Lake District hotels have been placed in a new Michelin Guide.
The new guide, published on October 1, gives one, two and three key distinctions for the most outstanding hotels in the UK and Ireland.
The Gilpin Hotel and Lake House and The Samling Hotel, both near Windermere, were designated two key hotels by Michelin.
Forest Side Hotel, in Grasmere, was given a one key distinction.
The Michelin Guide says that like the stars for restaurants, the key 'are out most outstanding hotels.'
In total, the 2024 hotel selection for Great Britain and Ireland includes 14 three key hotels, 37 two key hotels and 72 one key hotels.
Speaking of the awards, Thomas Ferrante, general manager at Gilpin Hotel and Lake House said: "We’re beyond excited to announce that Gilpin Hotel & Lake House has been awarded a Two Key distinction by the Michelin Guide.
"Equivalent to the prestigious Michelin stars for restaurants, this award recognises our hotel as a truly unique and exceptional destination. It’s an incredible honour that celebrates the character, consistency of service, and care of our guests, which are at the heart of everything we do."
