An 'exciting new venture' is coming to Barrow in the effort of making the town a greener place.
Organised by Westmorland and Furness Libraries, 'Barrow Grows' will create a new 'seed library' for any residents looking to test their green thumbs.
This will be based at Barrow Library and will take place as part of Green Libraries Week, a national celebration that will run from Monday, October 7 up until Sunday, October 13.
This annual event puts organisations in the spotlight that are championing sustainability and climate action.
A spokesperson from Westmorland and Furness Libraries commented: "We’re so excited to get this new venture underway, and we’ve got some great resources to share with anyone interested in collecting, planting and growing their own seeds.
"We'll have lots on offer and would love to hear from anyone who could donate seeds or small tools to the Seed Library for others to benefit from."
