A girl from Barrow is raising money for the group that turned her footballing dream into a reality.
Gracie Higginson, aged 12, is currently a goalkeeper for the under-14 side at Bolton Wanderers and also trains with Everton and at the future Lionesses Goalkeeping Centre in Manchester.
Last year, she was supported by Pitch Up Events through their Furness Future Stars Fund which aims to help talented, local people to reach their full potential by providing financial assistance.
This was started by Joe Jackson last year, alongside friends James Bonner and James Howden.
Believing that Barrow's geographical location makes it harder for young stars to succeed, they have been working with local people and businesses to bridge those gaps.
Grace's mum Nicola said: "After a good chat, the lads offered my daughter sponsorship for one year, which funded 1:1 strength and conditioning coaching at their industry gym with Paddy Maher.
"To give back, my daughter is doing a two-mile open water, sponsored swim in Coniston to raise money for their amazing fund which supports local kids in the area become the best versions of themselves through sport.
"I couldn't be prouder of Gracie - all she wants to do is pay back what the lads put in."
Gracie became the first recipient of the Furness Future Stars Fund in October last year, which granted her access to £700 to back her aspiring career in the sport.
She earned the attention of Pitch Up Events by impressing their panel with her 'dedication and the professional manner in which she applied herself' to being the best goalkeeper she can be.

The money went towards sessions with Paddy Maher, who is currently working alongside Barrow Raiders Ladies and has spent the majority of his career with Carlisle United.
At the time of writing, Gracie's Coniston challenge is scheduled for Monday, October - as long as the weather plays along.
