A CUMBRIAN hospital has the second most affordable car park in the UK.
Parking in Furness General, in Barrow, costs £2.50 for two hours, according to research done by Moneybarn Car Finance. It was beaten only by Salford Royal Hospital, which charges drivers £2 to park their car for two hours.
Furness General shares the number two spot with Darent Valley Hospital, in Dartford, Kent.
Figures revealed that in 2022/23 the University Hospital of Morecambe Bay Trust, which operates Furness General, Westmorland General and the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, received £865,538 for visitor/patient car parks and £270,555 from staff car parks.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, located in one of the most affluent areas of London, has the highest parking fees, charging £7 for two hours of parking.
