PLANS have been lodged to convert a five-bedroom house in Barrow into a house of multiple occupancy (HMO).
KR Co Living Ltd has submitted a planning application to Westmorland and Furness Council to convert 87 Mount Pleasant into an eight-bedroom HMO.
According to planning documents, all the bedrooms in the three-storey property will have an en-suite bathroom and there will be a ‘spacious’ communal area.
A management statement says: “The security measures proposed should give reassurance to the occupants and the neighbours that the safety of the area will not suffer as a result of the proposal.
“The information that will be provided to the tenants along with signed antisocial behaviour policies should ensure that the tenant’s presence will not have a detrimental effect on the neighbourhood, especially regarding issues relating noise and nuisance.
“Also the neighbours will be given the managing agents information has a contact if any issues arise.”
The planning application is currently undergoing public consultation.
