A group in Barrow have been raising funds this weekend that will make a real 'difference' for them going forward.

The Barrow Sea Cadets hosted the event at the Soccer Bar on Wilkie Road on Saturday, September 21.

They worked alongside Rock and Roll Bingo, which aims to add a modern twist to the classic game, to put on the successful event that has raised nearly £1,000.

A spokesperson from the cadets commented: "Many thanks to all who attended, organised and donated raffle prizes.

"We managed to raise £950 for unit funds which will make such a difference."

The group, which received an award earlier this year in recognition of its growth throughout 2023, promised that further opportunities to bring in donations are already in the works.
