PLANS to convert a takeaway restaurant into a bar in Barrow have been given the go-ahead.
Westmorland and Furness Council has approved a planning application from John Rigg to transform the ground floor of 52 Cavendish Street from a restaurant into a drinking establishment/live music venue.
According to plans, the first floor of the property will be a delivery-only takeaway.
52 Cavendish Street is currently Barrow Indian Cuisine.
According to planning documents, it is proposed the bar would be open until 5am and there will be a maximum number of 40 people in the venue at any given time.
An application form submitted with the planning application says there will be three full-time members of staff and two part-time employees, bringing a total of four full-time equivalent members of staff.
The application was approved on September 17.
