A spokesperson for Coniston Mountain Rescue said: "We despatched 1 vehicle as soon as possible with a further crew ready to attend after they arrived at base.
"Upon arrival on scene we were greeted by the crew from Helimed 58 who advised that after giving strong pain relief the lady was able to walk to the helicopter with assistance.
"They then flew the casualty to Furness General Hospital in Barrow in Furness. We stood the second vehicle down, returned to base and one of our members took the casualty’s daughter through to the hospital to reunite them.
"We wish the lady a swift recovery."
Ten volunteer members attended the rescue which lasted one hour and five minutes.
