A number of planters and benches have been vandalised in Barrow town centre overnight.
Local cleaning service company Grimefighters described the culprits as 'idiots' and urged people to come down to help clean up.
In June 2023, police condemned this kind of behaviour after a video surfaced of a group of young men pulling plants out of display boxes along Portland Walk.

Now, vandals have targeted numerous planters and benches around the town centre.
A post created on the Grimefighters Facebook page this morning said: "If anyone has a shovel, energy, and some spare time this morning please head down to Portland Walk to help us out after idiots have done this."
Furness Multi-Cultural Community Forum & Youth Club sent some of their members down to help with the clear up.

It also took to Facebook to appeal for helpers: "If anyone is available to help in the town centre this morning please make your way down... the lovely planters, that some of you will of helped make, have been destroyed over night
"They really need some help to get these cleaned up and fix what is fixable.
"Let's show these mindless few that we will not let them destroy our town centre."
