A popular chippy in Barrow town centre is looking for a new owner.
The Golden Fry was added to the market on Monday September 16.
The chippy, which opened its doors for the first time in April 2023, is advertised for sale with businessesforsale.com.
The establishment, on 39 Crellin Street, is currently owned by Christos Alexandrou, who has more than 51 years of business experience and owns shops in Walney, Millom, Ulverston andThe business is being sold on a leasehold and will include all of the furniture, fixtures, inventory and stock.
Mr Alexandrou is asking for £12,000 per year in rent with no rates to pay, there is also a freehold option available with an asking price of between £50,000 and £100,000.
Mr Alexandrou is now 77 years old and said he had decided to sell due to health issues.
The listing boasts of a ‘busy’ high street location and highlights that the shop is less than two years old with a ‘bright’ interior and ‘brand new’ equipment.
The chip shop has a small living accommodation for a new owner or manager.
The Golden Fry currently employs five people and opens Tuesday to Sunday for 35 hours a week.
