A popular comedy night is set to feature some of the best names on the UK circuit.
Friday Night Live at the Coronation Hall in Ulverston will take place on Friday, September 27, with a line-up including Thomas Green, Alun Cochrane, Jack Gleadow, and Howard Walker.
Thomas Green, an Australian comic, is known for headlining at high-profile clubs such as The Comedy Store, Glee, Hot Water Comedy, Top Secret Comedy, and The Frog and Bucket.
He has performed sell-out shows at the Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, and Edinburgh festivals, and has supported comedians like Jason Manford, Russell Kane, and Mo Gilligan on their world tours.
Green has been described as having "the elasticity of Jim Carrey; the character range of Robin Williams; the absurdity of Eddie Izzard; and the energy of Lee Evans," all blended with his own unique storytelling style.
Alun Cochrane, another award-winning stand-up comic, is also on the bill.
Cochrane has made appearances on various TV shows, including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Russell Howard’s Good News, Mock The Week, and Have I Got News For You.
He was a series regular in the Sky Living sitcom Trying Again and has had guest spots in Coronation Street, Boomers, and Russell Howard’s Christmas film A Gert Lush Christmas.
Cochrane has also made a name for himself in radio, featuring regularly on BBC Radio 4’s The Comedy Club and other shows such as The Now Show and Just A Minute.
His talent has been recognised with several awards, including a Chortle Award for Best Breakthrough Act and a Writer’s Guild Award for Comedy.
Jack Gleadow, known for his high-energy, quirky performances, is also part of the line-up.
Gleadow's performances often include a mix of physical comedy, witty storytelling, and audience interaction.
He has received several accolades, including the Amused Moose National New Comic Award in 2017 and the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Award in 2018.
Gleadow has also performed for Audible Live from the Edinburgh Festival in 2019, which was later released on the Amazon platform.
He has performed at numerous festivals, including Reading and Glastonbury, and has hosted comedy gala shows alongside Reginald D Hunter, Joe Lycett, Russell Kane, Sean Walsh, and Miles Jupp.
Howard Walker, who will be hosting the night, is a Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year finalist and former Comedy Cellar New Yorkshire Comedian of the Year.
Walker is known for his appearances at Hot Water Comedy Club and is set to bring the night together with his own unique brand of humour.
With only one full table left and individual tickets selling fast, those wishing to attend are encouraged to get their tickets soon.
The night promises to be filled with laughter and entertainment from some of the best in the business.
