United Utilities is inviting people to learn more about sewer upgrade plans in Burneside at a public exhibition.

The event is aimed at informing residents of the Cumbrian village about the company's strategy to enhance the area's sewer network.

The initiative is designed to boost network capacity and mitigate the risk of sewer flooding in the village.

The exhibition will take place on Tuesday, September 17, at the Bryce Institute from 1pm to 7pm, where United Utilities representatives will be available for any questions.

The past year has seen the company conducting thorough surveys and investigations.

Key proposals include the replacement of approximately 820 metres of sewer and the establishment of a new pumping station with added storage capacity.

Pending planning approval, the project is anticipated to commence in spring 2025 and conclude in 2027, with work being phased to lessen community disruption.
