A temporary road closure is set to take place in Ulverston from next week.

Westmorland and Furness council has made an order prohibiting any vehicle from proceeding along section U5703 of Hillside Road, Croftlands from its junction with Maple Avenue.

This will extend in a north westerly direction for approximately 75 metres.

In the advanced road closure notice, the local authority has insisted that there is no suitable alternative route available.

The works will start on Wednesday, September 18 and it is anticipated to last two weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

The order may continue in its full force for a maximum duration of eighteen months however.

The closure is to allow Fibrus to carry out utility works.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Any queries should be directed to the Highways Hotline 0300 373 3306 or via the Westmorland and Furness Council website.
