AN INQUEST into the death of a man who was found unresponsive at his home in Barrow has been opened.
Gary O'Hara, 59, was found unconscious at his property at Egerton Court, Barrow, on June 17, 2024.
He was pronounced dead by paramedics at 9.19pm that day and was identified by his son to an attendant police officer.
Area Coroner for Cumbria Kirsty Gomersal said that a post-mortem report offered a cause of death of the combined toxic effect of drugs with a contributory factor of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Ms Gomersal said that an inquest is required due to Mr O'Hara's death not being from natural causes and set a date for a conclusion hearing of January 23, 2025.
