A SCHOOL has changed the colour of its uniforms for the first time since it opened.

After wearing red from when the school opened on August 31 1914, Brisbane Park Infant School in Barrow has changed the uniforms to navy blue.

"We agree that looks so smart on our children," said Samantha Clarke, office manager for Brisbane Park Infant School.

Along with the jumper change they have changed their PE kits to the house teams.

Children now wear red, blue, yellow or green depending on their house team, which also represents the submarines built at BAE.

Red is the vanguard team, yellow is astute, green is explorer and blue is splendour.
