A BARROW woman has been sentenced for causing another female to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against her.

Demi Heighton Clemments, of Broad Close, used threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence towards her victim on August 1 in Barrow, South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court heard.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge at the first opportunity on September 9.

As punishment for the offence, magistrates fined the woman £200 and ordered that she pay £85 in court costs, as well as an £80 victim surcharge.
