A MOTORIST has been handed a further ban for driving while disqualified.
Kirk Anthony Woodhouse, of Trinity House, Holborn Hill in Millom, was caught driving a Ford Transit van on Lancashire Road in the town on June 17 this year.
Police enquiries revealed the 51-year-old was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence at that time.
Woodhouse also conceded he had been driving the vehicle on the road without third party insurance.
At South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on September 5, Woodhouse changed his plea to guilty for the two offences.
He also admitted another charge of failing to answer to court / police bail as soon as practicable on July 8.
Magistrates disqualified the defendant from driving for 16 months and imposed a 12-month community order with one requirement of completing 150 hours of unpaid work.
They also fined him £50 and ordered that he pay £300 in court costs.
