A musician from Barrow is preparing himself for a UK tour that starts this week.
Jimmy Patrick, 29, has been performing alongside the McGoldrick Family Band since 2022 with their debut album - 'One For The Road' - released earlier this year.
The band will be performing at Aldingham Parish Hall in Ulverston on Thursday, September 12 before heading to Belper Folk Club in Derbyshire, the Waterside in Manchester, and the Irish Cultural Centre in London.

Jimmy said: "I was first introduced to Celtic music by my secondary music teacher Sue O’Connor who took us on a school trip to Hexham Folk Festival when I was 13.
"Shortly after this, I joined Freebandreel, which was a youth folk group hosted by Furness Tradition who are a local organisation aimed to promote awareness of, and participation in, the folk music traditions of Cumbria."
Jimmy went on to join Folkestra, a national youth folk ensemble, which saw him perform at the London 2012 Olympics Torch Celebrations in Trafalgar Square.
"After moving back to Barrow at the beginning of the pandemic, I was asked to teach at a flute weekend in Oslo, which is how I met world-renowned flute player Mike McGoldrick," he said.
"This was our first meeting and from the off we had a great laugh and enjoyed sharing music.
"After returning to the UK, Mike started to invite me to Manchester to play in the local sessions with him so I would travel there multiple times a month."
It was through Mike that Jimmy met his nieces Catherine McGoldrick, Ciara McGoldrick, and Mairead Hussey, with the five of them creating the McGoldrick Family Band.

Since then, they have performed at numerous festivals around the UK, including a headline gig at Celtic Connections 2024, a live studio performance on BBC Radio 2’s Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe, and a live TV show on TG4 at the Fleadh 2024 in Wexford, Ireland.
Jimmy added: "The gig in Aldingham is hosted by Furness Tradition, with whom I am working with to re-establish a youth folk group in the local community.
"This will be a fortnightly meeting with myself and guest tutors, free for participants."
