A 20-year-old woman has lost her licence after being caught over twice a legal drug driving limit in South Cumbria.
Jodie Parkinson, of Roose Road in Barrow, was stopped by road traffic officers on the A590 at Newby Bridge on April 8 whilst driving a Vauxhall Corsa.
Court records show the defendant was ordered by police to conduct a DrugsWipe test for analysis as they had reason to believe she had been driving illegally.
The resulted revealed Parkinson had 4.1 ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in her blood, the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis.
The legal ‘zero tolerance’ limit set by government is 2.0 ug/L.
Magistrates at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on September 2 fined Parkinson £120 and disqualified her from driving for a period of 12 months.
She was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £48 surcharge.
