A special event is coming to Barrow next week, telling stories of Furness by candle light.
Organised by BarrowFull, the evening of tales will take place at the town hall on Saturday, September 14 from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
Local writers will delve into the past of Barrow and the surrounding peninsula, with battery-powered candles adding to the atmosphere of the occasion.
The event has been done in partnership with Obscura Theatre, a company exploring folklore, the fantastical, and its relationship to land and local identity with people in unique locations across the country.
One of the writers in the spotlight will be Caleb Staps, a Barrow-born creative who has been published in various anthologies and zines and has performed across the UK.
