The owner of a bakery in Dalton is hoping to pick up an award less than one year since taking over the reins.
Last month, The Mail launched the 'Best Bakery 2024' awards, which are on the hunt for the best businesses in Furness that offer sweet treats and hot snacks.
Our readers were eager to nominate their favourite bakeries in the local area, with the top 10 now vying for your vote.

Out of the top 10, there is only one bakery nominated that does not hail from Barrow, with The Pie Shop in Dalton representing the rest of Furness.
There, John McArthur stepped up as owner earlier this year, building upon the success laid down by his parents, David and Carol, and sister Amy.
John said: "To be nominated by the public is very flattering and very much appreciated, both for myself and for the staff who enable The Pie Shop to trade in the lovely market town of Dalton.
"We want to thank all our customers who have made the nomination and appreciate their custom over the last few years, especially during the difficult times we have experienced."
The Pie Shop first opened its doors in April 2018, with David and Carol having earned popularity through their work at Green's Bakery in Barrow.
"Carol retired from nursing but, not ready to put her feet up, thought of opening The Pie Shop in the prime location on Market Street," John explained.
"At that time, David was still the owner of Green’s Bakery, and agreed it would be nice to take the successful product further afield."
Having worked at the bakery from a young age, John is no stranger to the graft involved in making the business a successful one.
"Business at the moment is going nice and steady with a mix of faithful regulars and curious new faces that my have been recommended to try our pies.
"Hopefully in the near future you'll see me at a market stall or some outdoor events as we're fine tuning the idea of doing a hot food stand."
If you think that The Pie Shop deserves to be named as the best bakery in Furness, then pick up a copy of the Mail by September 14 to cast your vote.
