One of only two remaining Second World War-era Avro Lancaster Bombers will fly over the Lake District this evening.
As part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Lancaster is due to soar over Windermere between 5.47pm and 6.17pm on Friday September 6.
After extensive maintenance, the Lancaster took to the skies for the first time this year in July.
Last winter the entire tail of the plane was replaced, and after extensive inspections and testing, the Lancaster is able to fly again.
