A SINGER has secured a new venue to host her lessons and to keep 'inspiring' younger generations.

Becki Fishwick, a professional singer and founder of Bevocal, has found a regular venue for her singing lessons.

This means she will be relocating all her teachings to it and can offer more one-to-one lessons and set up new singing workshops and clubs.

The new home of Bevocal will be at The Griffin Community Centre in Barrow.

Becki explained she wanted a regular home to host her lessons and the community centre was a 'really nice space' to have them.

"It is in a great location and the venue itself is a really traditional village hall style and you go in and it has got a stage which is what we all wanted," she said.

Becki said that some children want to do singing as a career and so she wants to be able to encourage creative careers.

"I think it is important that children know that it is ok to want that as a career option. In a town like Barrow, a lot of people go down the road of working at BAE or maybe going to university," said Becki.

"I want to inspire the younger generation that music is a viable career option not just a dream.

"I am to support and nurture, motivate and inspire, create performance opportunities and offer coaching for those aspiring to audition, create music, and pursue a career as a singer.

"There are a few things that singing can kind of do to help a child express themselves and build their confidence to perform in front of people or just to be around other children."

The weekly singing club and 2025 holiday clubs will be hosted there too.

Bevocal offers singing lessons, workshops and holiday clubs for children aged 5 to 16 years old.
