Multiple emergency teams attended an incident in Barrow yesterday.
Furness Coastguard were called out to a multi agency incident on Walney Channel.
The casualty was safely returned to shore by Cumbria Police.
They were joined by North West Ambulance, Barrow RNLI, Cumbria Fire Service and BAE Fire Service.
Furness Coastguards said: "If in danger on the coast or one of the four navigable lakes, Windermere, Coniston, Ullswater or Derwentwater then dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
