A MEMORIAL clock dedicated to Barrow heroes who served in World War One is now ticking again.
Roose Primary School clock is now fully restored, painted, illuminated and more easily accessible for its weekly winding.
The task was completed during the 150th anniversary year of Roose School and just in time before the children started the school year.
The last time the clock was restored was in 2010 by restorer David Burns.

The project to restore the clock was led by Barrow Town councillor Paul Griffiths who is 'over the moon' that the project went according to plan.
He said it had been a 'fabulous community project' and thanked those involved to bring it back to its former glory.
Cllr Griffiths said: "I would like to thank Headteacher Jenny Redhead for trusting me to oversee and carry out the task from start to finish and facilitating all of my requirements over the last few months.
"Phil Rollinson and Alan Jones for spending hours overcoming a really difficult challenge to gain access to the jammed hatch door.
"Darren Clark for his painstaking rust removal and re-painting of the clock housing and framework whilst juggling his work shifts and awful weather but also having the vision and patience to introduce a touch of gold.
"Dave Burns from The Clockworks Ulverston for his guidance on what was required and for removing, restoring and replacing the clock mechanism with total professionalism and passion for the task. Dave will also inspect and service the mechanism twice a year and tweak the pendulum to keep the correct time all free of charge.
"Simon Waterworth for his support throughout the whole project which included working with me on installing a stowable ladder to access the clock winding mechanism more safely, and also working with me, installing the lighting inside the clock face and being the general go-to-guy for everything else."
Money was also allocated to the restoration project from the donation of £500 from Matt Sanderson, £500 from councillor Andy Coles' allowance and £500 from councillor Trevor Biggins' allowance.
The clock above Roose Primary School was installed on April 30 1921 with a plaque underneath bearing the names of those who fought in the war.
"This is quite personal for me because I was a pupil at Roose School, my mother was a pupil at Roose School and my grandson is currently a pupil there and one of my relatives is mentioned in the memorial under the school clock," said Cllr Griffiths.
