A dream trip to Dubai for children from Cumbria has been made possible by two Cumbrian businesses.

The students of Razzamataz South Lakes are preparing for the adventure, organised by the Razzamataz Schools network.

It has been made possible by the collective efforts of the theatre school's team and families, and a generous £3,000 grant from VL Aesthetics, a clinic in Carlisle.

The children will have the chance to explore the rich culture of the Dubai and demonstrate their talents to educational leaders from around the globe.

The journey holds great potential for the three chosen students.

Lana and Vanessa Brown, directors at VL Aesthetics, said: “At VL Aesthetics, we believe in the power of the arts to transform lives.

"We are truly honoured to sponsor three incredible young talents from Cumbria who will soon embark on a remarkable journey to Dubai.

"This opportunity to perform on an international stage is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

"We are confident that this experience will inspire them to dream bigger and reach higher."

The sponsorship has made it possible for the students to partake in the trip taking place in November.

Their itinerary includes exploring key cultural sites like the Dubai Opera House that hosts world-class performances, and the Museum of the Future, offering a glimpse into the evolving technologies and emerging trends shaping humanity's future.

Asha Richardson, principal of Razzamataz South Lakes, said: "The trip is being carefully planned and curated to ignite the imaginations of our students to enable them to reach their full potential and possibly become tomorrow’s leaders.

“From the rich history and heritage of old Dubai from a humble trading port to a bustling metropolis through to a selection of famous landmarks, we hope to inspire these young people to develop a deeper world view, without limitations.”

Razzamataz have shown huge appreciation towards the VL Aesthetics team.

Ms Richardson said: "Their support has been instrumental in making this trip possible for these Cumbrian students, providing opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.

“By exposing students to diverse cultures and experiences, the Razzamataz Theatre Schools aim to cultivate not only artistic talents but also the confidence and ambition to pursue their goals fearlessly.

"This journey is more than just an educational trip; it’s a chance to broaden horizons and empower the next generation to think big and dream even bigger.”

The trip to Dubai is in the final stages of planning and students are looking forward to preparing their performance.

Previously, students have visited London to perform in West End theatres, participated in workshops in New York with Broadway stars, and are expected to return to Disneyland Paris in 2025 to lead the parade.

Razzamataz South Lakes offer programmes for children aged four-18 in the main school and infants as young as six months can get involved in the Tiny Tots classes with parent/caregiver involvement.
