MEMBERS of a philharmonic orchestra in Ukraine will join Cumbria musicians in a concert.
'For Ukraine' musicians of Cumbria and their supporters have raised £14,000 over seven events to keep music playing in war-torn Ukraine.
These fundraising events were inspired by the desire to do something for the people and musicians of Ukraine after the Russian invasion.
On 12 October they will be joined by members of the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine for their eighth concert.

The group has been able to send musical supplies to the Orchestra in Lviv and now two of their number will stay on at the end of the forthcoming Orchestra tour of England to join in.
Local musicians will give benefit performances including piano solo and duet, recorder with cello and piano, flute with guitar, vocal quartet, piano trio and solo cello.
As well as the Ukrainian visitors for this event, For Ukraine will welcome renowned bassoonist Laurence Perkins from Manchester and the Choir of St John’s Hospice, Lancaster.
The event will be hosted at St Mary’s Church, on Ambleside Road, Windermere from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

Each free event supports a local cause alongside the Musicians of Ukraine.
Half of the funds raised will be donated to St John’s Hospice.
The events allow amateur and professional musicians a space to perform. They have amateur and professional contributors ranging from 10 to 90 years old.
The audience comes and goes through the afternoon, taking time out for tea and excellent cakes provided by other volunteers.
Organiser Bridget Starling said previous events at St Anne's Church in Ings have 'packed out' the church.
She said: "It is very important for us here. Everyone who takes part here wants to do something for Ukraine and this was what the Orchestra felt."
There is no charge for entry or for refreshments – but there is a bucket for donations.
