A DRINKING establishment in Furness has been handed a new food hygiene rating.
Windsors Eating House @ Newton Arms, a pub, at 2-4 Newton Road, in Dalton was given the maximum score of new five-out-of-five food hygiene.
The score was given after assessment on August 27, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
The hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was rated 'Good'.
The cleanliness and condition of facilities and building (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene was rated 'Very Good'.
And the management of food safety was found to be of a 'Very Good' standard.
It means that of Westmorland and Furness's 385 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 310 (81%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
