A LAKE District restaurant has been handed a new food hygiene rating.
The Butcher and The Baker at Lake Road, Ambleside was given a score of four out of five.
The rating was given after an assessment on July 26 by Westmorland and Furness inspectors, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
The hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was found to be in a 'good' standard.
The cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control, to enable good food hygiene was rated 'generally satisfactory'.
The management of food safety was found to be 'good'.
It means that of Westmorland and Furness's 667 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 554 (83%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
