A historic steam train delighted residents in Cumbria as it passed through the county over the weekend.

The Lakelander travelled north into Cumbria on Saturday and passed towns including Barrow, Ulverston, Dalton, Askam, and Millom.

The service was hauled by a preserved locomotive - the West Country Class, (No. 34046 Braunton) that had people rushing to their closest train station to catch a glimpse of the sight.

Passengers were greeted with views of Morecambe Bay as the train rode through Grange-over-Sands before crossing the Kent viaduct at Arnside and re-joining the main line at Carnforth.
