A famous steam train is travelling across Cumbria this weekend.
The Lakelander, which begins in the Midlands before calling at stations in Cheshire and Lancashire, travels north via the West Coast Main Line to Carlisle where it is due to arrive at 12.30pm today (August 31).
The service will be steam hauled from Preston by a preserved locomotive chosen from a pool made up of the famous LMS Royal Scot Class, No.46100 Royal Scot, West Country Class, No. 34046 Braunton or Britannia Pacific Class, No 70000 Britannia.
After arriving in Carlisle, it is set to depart at around 3.30pm, returning via the coastal route through Workington and passing Sellafield and Ravenglass.
Passengers will ride past Morecambe Bay through Grange-over-Sands and cross the Kent viaduct at Arnside, before re-joining the main line at Carnforth.
