A national clothing brand has announced that it will be opening another store in the Lake District.

Weird Fish will be opening the doors to a new shop in Bowness-on-Windermere on Saturday, September 7, with a special event taking place to mark the occasion.

This will be the company's third sate in the Lake District, having found homes in Ambleside and Keswick.

A spokesperson from the company outlined that the decision to expand their business in the region was down to the positive relationship they have already forged in the area.

They commented: "Following the success of our stores in Ambleside and Keswick, we are excited to announce the opening of our third Lake District store in Bowness-on-Windermere.

"We identified the destination for its tourism, outdoor vibe and strong local community, that fits perfectly with the laid-back, feel-good clothing that the company prides itself on."

The grand opening will take place next weekend with the Mayor, Councillor Christine Hallatsch, preforming the official act at 11am to kickstart the festivities.

This will be accompanied by live music, cake, drinks, and special goody bags worth £50 for the first 50 purchasing customers.

Weird Fish first came about back in 1993 following a visit to Cornwall, in which the idea was born to create 'well priced, well made and distinctive clothes that become instant feel-good favourites'.

"This belief is lovingly stitched into every Weird Fish product.

"The well-loved jeans or ‘washed 100 times’ t-shirt that puts you in a good mood the moment you put it on - when Saturday morning rolls around and it’s time to escape the daily grind we just want to kick back in our feel-good favourites and enjoy the good times.

"Every piece of our clothing starts with that feeling in mind because we deserve this sort of comfort every day."

After over thirty years of service, the company still believes that it has those founding principles at its core, which have helped it to continuously expand - including its latest move in Cumbria.
